Fort William & the Highlands of Scotland 6 Days / 5 Nights

Scotland is a land of breathtaking natural beauty and romantic traditions; a vast holiday playground of deep glens, majestic mountains and heather-clad moors.

Suggested Holiday Hotel:

At the Ben Nevis Hotel you can enjoy great food and Scottish hospitality.  All guest rooms have en-suite bathroom, television, direct dial telephone and tea/coffee making facilities.  Hotel features include a restaurant with a view of Ben Nevis and bar.  Accommodation is reserved for five nights on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis.

Suggested Tour Itinerary:

Day 1
Depart during the morning and travel north making appropriate comfort stops en-route via Glen Coe to Fort William and our hotel – the Ben Nevis, where accommodation is reserved for five nights on a dinner, bed & breakfast basis.

Day 2
After breakfast the coach will depart for a half day excursion to Oban, known informally as the ‘Gateway to the Isles’.   You will have time at leisure before returning to the hotel for approx. 13.00 hrs.

Day 3
Morning at leisure. The coach will then depart during the early afternoon for the journey north, making a brief stop at the Commando Memorial just north of Spean Bridge.  From here we continue our journey along part of the shore line of Loch Lochy to the picturesque town of Fort Augustus, which stands at the southerly tip of Loch Ness.  Here, we will board a 1 hour cruise on Loch Ness, don’t forget to look out for Nessie! After the cruise the coach will be waiting to return you back to the hotel.

Day 4
After a leisurely breakfast we have included a full day excursion which will take us via the shores of Loch Lochy, Loch Garry, Loch Loyne, Loch Cluanie, Loch Duich and Loch Alsh, to the Kyle of Lochalsh. From where we will travel via the Skye Bridge to the Isle of Skye. Time permitting we will travel as far as Portree, the main town, before returning to Fort William, knowing that you have been ‘over the sea to Skye’.

Day 5
Today our full day excursion will take you via Glen Spean into the Cairngorm National Park and Aviemore. Whilst in Aviemore, you will have free time, during which you may wish to pre-book and pay for an optional trip on the Cairngorm Mountain Railway, which operates from Aviemore to the summit of Cairn Gorm, where weather permitting, you can enjoy great views.  At the time of going to print the group rate should be no more than £10.00 per person.
Alternatively for those who like steam trains you may wish to pre-book and pay for an optional return journey on the Strathspey Steam Railway, which operates from Aviemore to Broomhill.  At the time of going to print the group rate would be £11.00 per person.

Day 6
After breakfast we must check out of the hotel for our return journey, making appropriate comfort stops en-route, arriving during the early evening.
