Valkenburg & Three Countries 5 Days / 4 Nights

Our holiday base – Valkenburg is a pretty market town, well loved by British holidaymakers for years with its street cafes and bars offering a warm welcome. It is set in the southern province of Limburg with its undulating scenic landscapes.

Suggested Holiday Hotel:

The Walram – situated in Valkenburg aan de Geul and is handy for all the shops, bars and street cafes. Rooms all have private facilities. Features include a restaurant and indoor pool. Accommodation is reserved for four nights on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis, including entertainment on two evenings.

Suggested Tour Itinerary:

Day 1
Depart during the morning and travel south to Dover, arriving in time to board a late morning/early afternoon ferry sailing to Calais. From Calais we will continue via Belgium to the Limburg region of Southern Holland to our highly recommended hotel – The Walram.

Days 2-4
During the tour, the following excursions are included for your enjoyment:

A full day ‘3 Countries Tour’ accompanied by a local guide, starting from our base in Holland we visit Germany and Belgium all in one day!
A single journey on the Zuid-Limburgse Steam Railway from Simpelveld back to Valkenburg, followed by entrance and guided train journey into the famous Municipal Caves in Valkenburg.
A full day excursion to Maastricht – one of the oldest cities in Holland, where we include an one hour cruise on the River Maas, along with a 45 minute guided tour of Maastricht on board an American yellow school bus.

Day 5
After breakfast we must check out of the hotel and return to Calais for the ferry sailing back to Dover. Upon arrival we will travel back to your local area, arriving during the mid/late evening.
